Creating encoded sound files
There are three ways to create encoded sound files.
1/ Download them from the many sites available on the Internet.
2/ Convert standard audio CD tracks into MP3 / WMA files.
3/ Record from tapes, vinyl, etc. using the Recorder/Editor plug-in.

Media Box makes it easy to encode CD audio tracks into MP3 / WMA / WAV files

Place an audio CD into the PC's rom drive, select CD to MP3 / WMA / WAV from the menu, Media Box will list the tracks with there play time, select the tracks you want to convert, select the directory where you want them to be placed, and press the play button.
Sample rates - 32, 44.1, 48 kHz
Bit rates from 32kHz to 320kHz


Decoding

When decoding ( converting MP3 to WAV ) you can first set start and end points. This utility allows you to pick out a section of the song to be decoded.

ID3 song Tag Information



This information is attached to the end of the file. If you use CDDB2 when encoding from CD, this information is added automatically, you can also add or edit it manually from this window, or from the database. This window also shows the duration of the current song and the total duration of the song queue.

Organising files
Organising songs is easy.

Use the Drive and Directory boxes on the left to navigate to your files, all the songs in that directory will appear in the large grey selection boxes ( see main screen above ), click on a song to add it into the song queue, you can move around drives and directories adding songs to the song queue. When you have finished click, 'Save Song Set'. A list of songs sets can be seen in the box on the right. Double click on a song set to instantly load all the songs into the song queue.

Playing songs
There are two players in Media Box

All the songs in the song queue will be played in sequence after pressing the Play button.
You can stop, fade out, and pause songs, click on a song in the queue to jump to that song, grab and move the song position bar to move to a new point in the song, and change the speed ( and pitch ).
The total song time and current position show in minutes and seconds.
With repeat selected the song queue will continue in a loop.
The toggle button switches between full screen and play bar only.
Volume, Treble and Bass controls ( if supported by sound card )

Shuffle

Use the shuffle button to change the order of songs in the song queue

Adding Text and Photos

The built in mini publisher lets you add photos, lyrics, etc. Mix fonts, font sizes, font colours, bold, italic etc.
Use your favorite photo editing software ( or e-soft's free photo editing software ) to scan photos, then cut and paste into the mini publisher. These pages can be linked to songs or song directories and will automatically appear when the song or directory is selected.
